Disease Intervention Specialist 1 (RISE Navigator) – Hybrid (Memphis, TN)

Location:

1407 Union Avenue, Suite 1204, Memphis, TN 38104 (Hybrid Role)

Role:

Seeking a RISE (Recovery, Information, Support, and Engagement) Navigator to play a vital role in addressing substance use disorders (SUD) and preventing overdose deaths and communicable diseases (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis C). This position involves outreach, crisis intervention, education, and connecting clients to critical recovery and mental health services.

Qualifications:

✔ High school diploma/GED (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in social work, psychology, or related field. ✔ 1+ year of professional experience (or equivalent graduate coursework). ✔ Lived experience? Must demonstrate 24+ months of self-directed recovery. ✔

Preferred:

Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or willingness to obtain certification. ✔ Strong knowledge of addiction recovery, harm reduction, and mental health support. ✔ Cultural competence and experience with diverse populations. ✔ Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus!

Requirements:

✔ Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance. ✔ Must pass background checks (felony reviewed case-by-case). ✔ No disqualifying registries (e.g., sex offender, abuse registries).

Work Environment:

✔ Hybrid schedule (in-office & community-based work). ✔ Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and unpredictable client behavior.
