In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including group homes and nursing facilities, to help them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through individualized care plans. Monitor and document clients’ vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel. Advocate for resident rights and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all clients. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate care and support services. Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities that promote inclusion and community involvement. Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, including cooking nutritious meals as needed. Participate in training sessions related to CPR, first aid, and other relevant topics to enhance your skills. Skills Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles. Experience in nursing homes or group home settings is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and vital sign monitoring. Ability to prepare meals that meet dietary restrictions and preferences. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing quality care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
