Home Care Spot Checker Georgina Homecare Bridgeport, CT 06604 Home Care Spot Checker Responsible for conducting unannounced visits to the homes of individuals receiving care services. These visits serve as a quality assurance mechanism to ensure that care delivery aligns with the agreed-upon care plans, regulatory requirements, and the standards upheld by the care provider. The spot checker supports continuous improvement, promotes safety, and helps maintain high standards of person-centered care. Key Responsibilities Conducting Unannounced Visits Carry out unannounced spot checks during scheduled care visits to objectively evaluate care delivery in real-time. Observing and Assessing Care Delivery -Monitor care staff during interactions with service users to ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in accordance with individualized care plans and professional standards. Interacting with Service Users -Engage in meaningful conversations to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and collect feedback about care services. Offer constructive, real-time feedback to staff, clarifying care expectations and highlighting areas for development or improvement. Immediately address unsafe or poor practices. Escalate safeguarding concerns in line with internal protocols and regulatory obligations. Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records of each visit, including observations, conversations, and any required follow-up actions. Verify that care practices comply with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, referencing frameworks such as Croner-i and sector-specific standards. Identify training needs based on visit findings and contribute insights to inform staff development programs and quality improvement initiatives. Essential Skills and Qualifications Providing Feedback and Guidance to Care Staff Identifying and Addressing Concerns Documenting Findings Ensuring Compliance Contributing to Training and Development Experience in Healthcare or Social Care -Previous experience in home care or community-based care services is highly desirable, along with an understanding of sector-specific challenges.
