PCA/Companion/Assistant Needed for a Lovely Woman in Litchfield Connecticut Care LLC Litchfield, CT 06759 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of senior care and be committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents in various settings, including nursing homes, personal care homes, and community care environments. This role requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to work closely with clients who may have specific health needs, including dementia care. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of residents. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to healthcare professionals. Support residents in maintaining their rights and dignity while providing personal care. Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times. Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following hygiene protocols. Document care provided and report any concerns regarding client health or behavior to appropriate personnel. Experience Previous experience in a nursing home or personal care home setting is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures and basic health monitoring techniques is beneficial. Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments is a plus. Familiarity with direct support roles that involve assisting individuals with various needs is essential. A strong understanding of resident rights and senior care practices is required. Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and effective communication skills when interacting with clients.
