Torrington, CT 06790 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by assisting them with daily activities and fostering independence in a safe and nurturing environment. This position requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to upholding resident rights. Duties Provide direct support and care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Observe and document patient behaviors and progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff. Ensure that residents’ rights are respected and upheld at all times. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, including memory care exercises. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Assist with cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Provide first aid as necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies. Support residents with heavy lifting when required for mobility or transfers. Requirements Previous experience in home health or direct support roles is preferred but not mandatory. Strong skills in patient observation to monitor changes in behavior or health status. Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals’ needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for resident assistance. Basic cooking skills to prepare meals for residents. Certification in First Aid/CPR is highly desirable. A compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members. Job Types:

$16.75 – $20.00 per hour
