Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Director of Operations to oversee daily operations in our non-skilled home care agency. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple administrative and operational tasks while leading staff and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage billing processes
- Oversee payroll tasks including bonus tracking
- Conduct 30/90-day and annual employee performance reviews
- Maintain monthly OIG Exclusion and DSS Administrative Action List reports
- Administer employee discipline procedures
- Track and manage patient authorizations
- Generate 60-day reports for compliance
- Oversee intake and patient tracking, ensuring up-to-date reporting on new intakes, hospital, and SNF lists
- Handle chart creation in WellSky and maintain physical charts
- Record EFTs and journal entries in QuickBooks
- Perform monthly statement balancing in QuickBooks
- Monitor patient frequency compliance
- Process VA document requests
- Manage monthly Sandata scheduling and ensure Sandata compliance/visit merging
- Serve as scheduling and on-call back-up
- Maintain active communication and relationships with referral sources and caseworkers regarding patient updates, authorization renewals, etc.
- Support HR functions and employee onboarding as needed
- Supervise AFL operations and ensure compliance with AFL 60-day reporting- in coordination with clinical staff
- Conduct weekly caregiver and hospital check-ins
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in operations management within home care, healthcare, or a related field
- 3 years or more in a Home Care management position
- Strong understanding of VA and DSS procedures and compliance
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, WellSky, and Sandata
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information and resolve conflicts effectively
- High level of accountability and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
- Prior leadership experience in a home care setting
- Knowledge of Connecticut home care regulations
