Job Type:

Part-Time We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced part-time caregiver to assist in the care of our special needs son. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring his safety, well-being, and comfort in a home setting while also assisting with daily tasks and helping maintain a clean and organized home environment. In addition, we would love to find someone who is open to staying overnight or over long weekends on occasion.

• Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications on time and as directed by the family.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensuring he receives proper nutrition.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a tidy home.
• Help our son with daily activities and routines, providing emotional and physical support.
• Take our son on outings as a reward for good behavior, such as to local parks, stores, or other fun locations.
• Maintain a calm, supportive, and nurturing environment, especially during times of behavioral challenges.
• Communicate effectively with the family regarding any concerns, progress, or changes in behavior.
• Provide assistance with any other caregiving tasks as needed.
• Occasionally stay overnight or over long weekends as needed
• to provide continuity of care and support during family time away.

• Qualifications:

• Previous experience in caregiving, especially for individuals with special needs, is preferred.
• Behavior management training or experience handling challenging behaviors is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to follow instructions and take initiative when needed.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the family.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and families.
• Willingness to stay overnight or for extended periods (long weekends) occasionally, as needed.

• Additional Information:

• This position is part-time with flexible hours, but consistent availability is preferred.
• The job is based in our home, so the caregiver must be comfortable working in a private residential setting.
