This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of an individual living with Dementia. Our client communicates primarily in Gujarati and has a limited understanding of English, making fluency in Gujarati a critical requirement for this role.

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to a client diagnosed with Dementia within the comfort of their own home. This includes, but is not limited to: Assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene like showers, dressing, and meal preparation. Providing engaging companionship and emotional support. Facilitating communication and understanding, utilizing fluent Gujarati. Implementing strategies to manage dementia-related behaviors with patience and understanding. Observing and reporting any changes in the client’s condition or behavior to the appropriate parties. Creating a safe and supportive environment for the client. Light housekeeping tasks directly related to the client’s care and comfort. Accompanying the client to appointments or outings, if required.

Schedule:

This is a consistent, part-time position requiring availability seven days a week, from 9:00 AM EST to 12:00

PM EST Qualifications and Requirements:

Fluency in Gujarati is absolutely essential. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and comfortably in Gujarati. Proven experience in caring for individuals with Dementia is required. A strong understanding of dementia-related challenges and best practices in providing care is highly valued. Must be reliable and punctual to the agreed-upon schedule. Possess a compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor. The ability to connect with and build rapport with individuals experiencing cognitive decline is crucial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to pass a background check and provide references. Certification in caregiving, CNA or HHA is a plus but not always required, depending on experience. We can provide courses for certifications.
