401(k) Retirement Plan Job Summary The Youth Caregiver provides supervision, care, and a positive relationship for youth ages 6-17 with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and intellectual disabilities, residing in a therapeutic group home setting. This role includes providing support and guidance with daily living skills, hygiene and self-care. The core responsibilities of this position include: Serving as a positive influence in the lives of youth through healthy relationship.
Planning and engaging youth in recreational activities.
Teaching youth life skills.
Managing daily routines in the residential cottage.
Providing trauma informed care and utilizing positive behavior management techniques when working with youth to prevent potential problematic behavior, promote positive behavior, and de-escalate incidents. (Training in de-escalation and behavior management models, CPI and TOOLS, provided onsite.)
Providing supervision and monitoring through positive engagement with youth.
Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the cottage environment.
Transporting youth to and from activities and other appointments. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED Equivalent
At least one (1) year of experience working with at-risk children and families or working in a residential setting. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Experience working with individuals that have been diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities strongly preferred but not required.
At least 21 years of age. First Aid and CPR certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire (classes available onsite). Valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense or license suspension.
Insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background, and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening. EEO/ADA/DFWP
