This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by promoting independence, dignity, and respect. DSPs work closely with clients in various settings, including residential homes and community environments, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, enhancement of parenting and social skills. Provide support in meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition is maintained. Monitor and document medications as prescribed to ensure the health and safety of clients. Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events to foster social interaction. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, including those requiring dementia care or specialized home community care. Advocate for resident rights and ensure a safe environment that promotes independence. Perform heavy lifting as necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers. Maintain accurate records of client progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members. Skills Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of vital signs monitoring. Knowledge of CPR techniques and emergency response protocols. Experience in home care settings, working with teens or youth, including familiarity with resident rights and advocacy. Ability to provide compassionate care while managing the complexities of social work related to youth and families. Competence in meal preparation that accommodates dietary restrictions or preferences. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs.
