This position involves assisting clients in daily living activities, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being while promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and will work closely with families and healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively. Duties Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s specific needs and preferences. Support residents in social activities and community engagement to promote socialization and emotional well-being. Monitor residents’ health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Administer medications as prescribed while ensuring adherence to medication administration protocols. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by following hygiene and safety standards. Uphold resident rights by treating all individuals with respect, dignity, and confidentiality. Utilize conflict management skills to address any disputes or challenging behaviors effectively. Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to provide holistic care for residents. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living or direct care settings is preferred. Knowledge of care plans, resident rights, and best practices in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Ability to manage conflicts calmly and professionally while maintaining a positive environment for residents. Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus. Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the living environment. A compassionate nature combined with patience and understanding when working with individuals facing various challenges. Certification in first aid or CPR is beneficial but not mandatory. This position requires dedication to improving the lives of those we serve through empathy, support, and skilled care.
