Avante at Ocala is seeking a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to provide resident care in accordance with provisions of Section 400.211, Florida Statutes. Upon completion of all required training, and as permitted by law, Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) will perform certain care procedures currently delivered by Certified Nursing Assistants. Qualifications:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and write and follow oral instructions in English.
- Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required, such as MS Outlook, MS Word, online educational programs/webinars, and facility support software, such as Point Click Care (PCC).
- Long-term care experience in skilled nursing preferred but not required.
- Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
- Must possess a willingness to learn, have a passion for caring for resident’s needs, and ability to communicate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, family members, community members, Avante’s vendors, volunteers and staff members.
- Must pass all Avante background check procedures, including required background screen and drug screen.
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Successful completion of PCA Eight (8) Hour Pre-Service Course (5-hour classroom training, and 3-hour supervised simulation/competency check-off), and continued On-the-Job Training.
