$23.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Caregiver to support a non-verbal ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) patient in St. Augustine, FL. The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, comfortable with medical equipment, and experienced (or willing to learn) in providing full-care assistance, including Hoyer transfers and use of advanced medical devices. This part-time role is perfect for someone who values meaningful work and has a passion for helping others maintain dignity and comfort in their daily lives. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one care to a non-verbal ALS patient with no physical mobility Assist with all daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, etc. Perform safe Hoyer lift transfers from bed to wheelchair and back Operate or learn to use heavy medical equipment, including suction machines, ventilators, and cough assist devices Monitor client’s condition and report any changes to family or medical professionals Prepare and serve meals that meet dietary needs Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment Offer companionship and respectful emotional support Adhere to HIPAA and privacy regulations at all times Qualifications Deep patience and understanding for individuals with severe physical and communication limitations Experience working with ALS or other medically complex conditions preferred Comfortable with hands-on caregiving and physical assistance Ability to safely manage Hoyer lifts and similar transfer devices Familiarity with or willingness to learn advanced medical equipment CPR/First Aid certification preferred High school diploma or GED required Must be dependable, detail-oriented, efficient, and compassionate Why Join Us?
