Job Description

Primary Function:

Provide age appropriate activities that will promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers.

Requirements:
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Drug screening and physical requirement; comprehensive background check as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards.

Educational Level:

Infant/Toddler CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent from a two-year College of Technical School.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, volume and other basic math equations.

While performing the duties of this job,the employee is frequently required to be at the level of the children; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess a valid Drivers license and reliable transportation. Must agree to obtain a current First Aid/CPR card within the first year of employment. May be required to provide own transportation in order to fulfill job responsibilities.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
