Duluth, GA Position Summary:

The Direct Care Coach is responsible for the daily care and supervision of the Women’s Residential Program participants. This role provides a supportive environment in collaboration with the therapeutic, educational, and life skills staff to meet organizational goals and individual participant goals. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Program Service Delivery Follow the daily program schedule as set by program leaders and participate in activities. Actively model the strength-based approach with participant and staff interactions. Collaborate with program leaders to develop and implement participant support plans, personal growth plans, and development plans. Safely transport participants to appointments and activities in organization vehicles and assist with vehicle maintenance and safety. Complete and document hourly house checks for participants during sleeping hours, as well as room checks for participants identified as a potential danger to themselves. Lead participant enrichment activities and psycho-educational groups during evenings and weekends, developing groups/activities based on participant needs and interests. Ensure facility and security excellence by participating in safety drills and planning. Support proper medication oversight, including administering random drug screens and following medication protocol to document the medication use of participants. Attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings, including direct care training; utilize all trained skills, including the strength-based approach with participants and staff. Ensure effective documentation, including balanced living tracking sheets for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Provide safety checks and maintain the cleanliness of the home; teach participants daily living skills, including personal hygiene, laundry, and cleaning. Perform administrative functions, such as completing accurate and detailed documentation in daily shift logs, room check sheets, balanced living sheets, and medication logs. Maintain flexibility when possible to address coverage or other emergencies. Follow all program policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provide care to program participants without regard to race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religious or spiritual beliefs. Provide care that is culturally competent for participants who have a history of trauma.

Professional Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher in a behavioral or social science field preferred. Minimum 1 year of related experience in residential direct care support for relevant populations. Strong administrative and organizational skills with computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs).

Position Requirements:

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing pre-employment background checks, including criminal history, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to ongoing compliance with these checks. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment. Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations.

Working Conditions:

Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer. Moderate local travel required related to program and training needs, as well as occasional travel beyond the metro Atlanta area.
