Full Job Description Summary:

We Are Looking For Senior Companion Caregivers Seniors who want to work in the home of other Seniors and individuals who have healthcare challenges and need compassionate home-care assistance. The Companion Caregiver is responsible for providing light meals, doing light home cleaning and assisting individuals with basic hygiene activities, hobbies, games and entertainment.

Responsibilities:

Entry level employee will be provided trainings and online CEUs to develop skills, knowledge and ability to work in-home with Seniors. He/she functions under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Case Manager or Agency Administrator. Companion Caregivers will provide Agency Administrators with information on client condition for and maintain appropriate records in relation to plan of care, reports and timesheet. Companion Caregiver will report any problems, concerns, changes in client condition and home environment. Companion Caregiver must stay up to date on certifications, licenses and always communicate concerns to Agency Administrators. Companion Caregiver must be able to perform: =Basic housekeeping tasks =Follow the plan of care prepared by the Nurse/Administrator with the client to provide the following: =Assist in maintaining a healthful, safe environment =Plan and prepare nutritious meals =Provide positive emotional support while performing tasks in the client’s home =Perform routine housekeeping tasks as related to a safe and comfortable environment for the client as instructed in the plan of care; to include light housekeeping, meal preparation, dishwashing, bed making, laundry and shopping =Establish a relationship with the client and the client’s family which conveys trust and confidentiality =Complete visit reports with time in and time out each day of client visit, document services provided, obtain client’s signature each visit, and submit to A Place At Home

Skills:

personnel Neat, clean personal appearance Free from health problems that may be injurious to client, self and coworkers and presents the required documents to indicate such Must have annual TB skin tests and submit proof to Human Resources Possess reliable transportation Ability to demonstrate the appropriate companion/sitter knowledge and skills related to the following Appropriate work experience and/or experience with caregiving Methodology for assisting clients to achieve maximum self-reliance Principles of the aging process and emotional issues related to illness and long-term home care Interest and concern for people Good judgment and tact in dealing with people Proper hygiene and knowledge of basic safety and sanitation Standard Precautions and basic infection prevention and control practices Awareness that counseling is available if needed for difficult cases and potentially dangerous situations

Qualifications:

= Looking For Seniors Who Want to be Companion Caregiver to other Seniors = Reading and Writing to complete reports on Clients Completion of training online CEUs. Must work towards CPR certification. and First Aid certification. Understand Client Needs for Companionship and how to provide Great Caregiver skills. Basic meal preparation Provision of transportation services Light Housekeeping Home safety Awareness Handling emergencies in the home Infection control

Physical Requirements:

Able to transfer 100lbs (and up) Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
