Caregiver / Resident Assistant Bernice Bell House Personal Care Home LLC. Americus, GA 31709 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and promoting independence among residents. Duties Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support residents with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met. Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any side effects or changes in condition. Implement behavior management strategies as needed to support residents’ emotional and behavioral health. Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behavior to the nursing staff. Drive residents to appointments or community activities as required. Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the personal care home. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living or caregiving is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and behavior management systems is beneficial. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and transferring residents when necessary. A valid driver’s license is required for transporting residents.
