Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients by supporting their daily activities and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to promoting independence and dignity for those they serve. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide home community care and support for individuals with varying needs, including those with dementia. Monitor and document vital signs as required, ensuring accurate records are maintained. Administer medications as prescribed, adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and safety. Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities. Observe and report any changes in clients’ conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel. Implement first aid procedures when necessary, ensuring the safety of all clients. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including cooking nutritious meals as needed. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Skills Experience in home community care or assisted living environments is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices and patient observation techniques. Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable. Proficiency in medication administration while adhering to safety protocols. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
