In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your contributions will play a vital role in enhancing their quality of life while promoting independence and dignity. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide patient observation to monitor changes in behavior or health status, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring that all living spaces are tidy and organized. Implement care plans tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring that all activities align with their goals and preferences. Support clients with dementia care by utilizing effective communication techniques and engaging them in meaningful activities. Lift and transfer clients safely as needed, following proper techniques to prevent injury to both the client and yourself. Provide hospice care when necessary, offering emotional support to clients and their families during challenging times. Experience Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Familiarity with patient care practices, including CPR certification, is highly desirable. Experience in dementia care or hospice care is a plus, showcasing your ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. Strong observational skills are essential for recognizing changes in clients’ conditions and responding appropriately.
