Job Description
Direct Care Worker-3rd Shift Description We’re hiring Direct CareWorkers for our GRIT program in Holyoke, a 16-bed program dedicated tosupporting LGBTQ+ individuals with co-occurring substance use and mentalhealth needs. In this role, the Direct Care Worker will provide guidanceand support for residents, fostering a trauma-informed,gender-responsive environment rooted in an understanding of and respectfor the LGBTQ+ community. Key responsibilities include overseeing dailyactivities, implementing individualized treatment plan interventions,assisting residents with daily living tasks (meal prep, householdupkeep, transportation), and encouraging active engagement in recoveryand relapse-prevention planning. Required Knowledge, Skills, AndAbilities Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time,prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and workcooperatively as a member of a team. Good oral, written, computer, andorganizational skills. Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changingneeds of the program participants. Strong interpersonal skills, patient,caring, and compassionate. Must be able to pass and maintaincertifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and first aid.
Must have ability to facilitate and develop a supportive community in adiverse, multi-cultural residential setting. Valid driver’s license,sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safereliable vehicle during working hours.
Current Open Shift:
Full-Time, 40hours: Sun/Mon OFF Tues-Sat 11p-7a Requirements High school diploma orequivalent (GED) preferred. Applicable experience working with peoplewho have been impacted by homelessness, psychiatric diagnosis, trauma,and/or addiction preferred.
