This job requires compassion, dedication, and a genuine interest in improving the well-being of others. As a Residential Care Assistant, you will be entrusted with a range of tasks from aiding with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, to providing emotional support and companionship. This role is essential in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for residents, facilitating their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Whether you are an experienced caregiver or new to the field, we would love to meet you! Job duties include but not limited to: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to the healthcare team Assist residents in participating in recreational activities and social events Support residents with household tasks such as laundry and tidying up Coordinate with families and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans Transport residents to medical appointments and social outings as needed Ensure residents’ dignity and privacy are respected at all times
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patience, empathy, and a caring nature Ability to handle physically demanding tasks Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills for electronic health records High school diploma or equivalent Ability to pass a background check Good physical health and stamina Valid driver’s license Strong organizational skills Effective communication skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and care plans Professional and compassionate demeanor Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents’ privacy
