Direct Care Staff Location:
Concord, NC Position Type:
Full-Time/Part-Time/Weekends Salary:
$15 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct Care Services:
Provide hands-on care and support to clients in a residential setting, ensuring their health care needs are met according to individual requirements.
Training and Assistance:
Assist clients with activities of daily living, vocational training, leisure activities, and behavior management.
Program Adherence:
Follow and implement programs accurately, making adjustments as needed based on client needs and progress.
Behavioral Intervention:
Intervene effectively with clients who exhibit agitation or loss of control, employing appropriate de-escalation techniques.
Safety Monitoring:
Regularly assess and maintain the safety of the environment to prevent accidents or harm.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate written records regarding client behavior and progress. Ensure that communication about client status and program updates is effectively relayed to co-workers on other shifts.
Client Assessment:
Evaluate and document the progress of clients in their assigned programs and adjust care strategies as needed.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
No specific experience required; however, previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.
Age Requirement:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Certification Skills:
Proficient in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), First Aid, CPR for Adults and Children, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Medication Administration.
Communication:
Ability to effectively report orally and in writing.
Emotional Understanding:
Knowledge of the emotional needs of individuals and the ability to provide appropriate support.
Interpersonal Skills:
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, families, and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications:
Additional certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Behavior Management, Specialized Care Techniques) are advantageous.
Experience:
Experience working in a residential care setting or similar environment is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks related to client care, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
