Training for caregiver’s is a part of our program. Caregiver’s may possess a wide range of skills or abilities. Must be highly organized and able to multitask and be able to help with a range of home chores. Caregivers to help clients with everyday activities, from cooking and cleaning to completing errands. Other essential duties and responsibilities include: Responsibilities Offering companionship to patients Taking clients to their medical appointments, the grocery store and other important places Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic health assessments. Managing medication Preparing meals when needed Helping with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) Providing care across a variety of settings, including group homes and day service programs Keeping the house clean and doing laundry when needed Providing bathing and dressing assistance Keeping proper care records Encouraging socialization and participation in community activities Communicating with medical professionals about the patient care plan Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment A commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization within the caregiving environment. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities, demonstrating patience and understanding. Strong communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Skills Caregiver education and training requirements The minimum education requirement for Caregivers is a high school diploma or GED. Caregivers learn many skills through on-the-job training, but it’s also common for them to earn certifications on the job and through training programs.
