Adult IDD Direct Support Worker Floating Staff- Lee and Harnett Counties Stevens Center Sanford, NC 27330 The Stevens Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing personalized support for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives within the community. It’s mission is centered around promoting dignity, self-direction, self-respect, independence and active participation within the community. The Direct Support Worker- Floating Staff position plays a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities within residential homes and in a day program setting. This position requires flexibility and adaptability to cover staff absences, ensuring continuity of care and a supportive environment for our individuals. To be eligible for this position with The Stevens Center, the candidates should be completely flexible with their weekly schedules, to cover all shifts, including weekends as necessary. Starting hourly rate is $17.00/per hour, with mileage paid when transporting clients Qualifications Candidates applying for this position must be 18 years of age or older, have excellent communication/attention to detail skills, manage multiple tasks and follow directions. Candidates must also possess- Proof of Education Driver’s License Proof of Vehicle Insurance. Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities, personal care and community involvement.
Personal care including:
bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, feeding, medication administration, personal hygiene, etc.
- Mobility assistance that involves ambulation and travel outside the home, transfers, transportation, shopping, etc.
- Monitor and support the individual’s health, safety and lifestyle. Provide training and assistance when making healthy choices
- Implement and follow person-specific goals for each individual, while promoting their personal growth and development. Document and report any concerns
- Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills
- Participate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activities
- Transport individuals to activities in the community
- Foster a positive and supportive environment, encouraging individuals to achieve their goals and participate in community activities.
- Assist individuals in building a support network and maintain relationships with families, community members, and businesses
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, including daily logs, incident reports, and community logs.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure professionalism that is consistent with the Stevens Center culture, mission, philosophy, policies, procedures, values and guidelines in all aspects of care.
