Allen A Brown Road, Charlotte, NC 28269 Hands of Peace Home Care is a non-medical home care agency servicing adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. HPHC is looking for warm, personable caregivers who are skilled at connecting with people and building relationships, while demonstrating excellent client service, reliability, and advocacy skills.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent communication skills, flexible and able to interact positively with staff and clients. Passionate, must present a positive and professional business image Strong sense of initiative and urgency in addressing unexpected client crises Commitment to regulatory compliance and to submitting all documentation in a timely fashion Must have reliable transportation and the ability to be punctual Hold valid driver’s license and automobile insurance Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required Experience in home care, preferred Experience as a CNA, a plus

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist clients with

ADL/IADL

activities which may include personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and other daily tasks. Follow the client’s Plan of Care, while ensuring service is delivered in a compassionate, caring, and respectful manner and in accordance with relevant Agency policies and industry standards. Ensure client’s safety and security by supervising in the home environment. Perform and/or teach personal care tasks, home management tasks, basic meal preparation, light housekeeping, home safety, handling emergencies in the home, and infection control with excellence. Provide companionship including social interactions, conversations, emotional reassurance, and encouragement of activities that stimulate the mind. Escort clients to medical facilities, errands, shopping, and outings as specified in the Plan of Care. Other duties – Must be able to: Travel to clients’ place of residence using a reliable means of transportation. Submit required documentation in a timely manner (i.e. records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service) Demonstrate ability to perform required client care tasks or activities or undergo training Attend orientation, in-service training sessions and staff meetings. In addition to scheduled hours, occasionally serving as backup caregiver/on call, as needed. •We also offer a referral bonus if you can refer caregivers and/or clients to us in the future
