Companion Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:
Companion consistently follows client care plans when providing care/assistance as required by law for companion caregivers.
Companion Provides clients personal hygiene:
gives baths, showers, oral care, shaves, nail care, skin care, grooming functions Companion Toilets/assists in bowel and bladder needs: gives bedpans, urinals, assists with toilet/bedside commode use, changes incontinent briefs all with attention to perineal/skin care Assists with meals and feeds clients, monitors feeding to include in between meal nourishments, supplements, ice water, measuring intake and output, calorie count, determining percentage of meals eaten Provides preventative care to include ROM, positioning and repositioning, appropriate application of safety device Ambulates/assists in ambulation to include safe transfer (transfer belts) and use of assistive devices (walkers, canes, wheelchairs) Other duties as assigned C.A.R.E. Education required:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience required:
