PCA/Caregiver Heart 2 Home Senior Services, LLC Carrboro, NC 27510 Job Summary The Personal Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities and memory care requirements. This position involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life through compassionate caregiving, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being in a group home or similar setting. Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive appropriate care tailored to their specific needs. Monitor and document vital signs as necessary, reporting any changes in the client’s condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and minimize challenging behaviors. Assist clients in mobility tasks, including lifting and transferring individuals safely when required. Engage clients in social and recreational activities to encourage participation and enhance their overall well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment for all clients by following established protocols and procedures. Skills Experience working in a group home setting or similar environment is preferred. Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities, particularly developmental disabilities. Familiarity with memory care techniques and approaches is advantageous. Strong understanding of caregiving principles and practices. Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility challenges. Proficient in behavior management techniques to effectively support clients’ needs. Basic knowledge of vital signs monitoring is beneficial. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
