Support Staff 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1411 3rd Avenue, New York, NY 10028 Job Summary We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Staff to join our team in providing exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including group homes and nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and monitor progress. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation. Provide support for residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to nursing staff. Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist residents in mobility or transfers. Maintain a clean and safe environment for all residents. Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and other team members to deliver comprehensive care. Experience Previous experience in a caregiving role within a nursing home or group home setting is preferred. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is highly desirable. Certification in CPR is a plus. Experience working with individuals with dementia or similar conditions will be beneficial. A background in social work or nursing is advantageous but not mandatory.
