Evening to Overnight Flex Care Staff Light Hill / Canandaigua Comfort Care Home Inc. 5160 Parrish Street Extension, Canandaigua, NY 14424 Reports to :

Hours:
4 hr Evening – 8p-Midnight, 8 hr Overnight – Midnight-8a, potential for 12-hour shift as needed
Compensation:
$16-20/hour (based on experience)
Job Overview :
Light Hill is a nonprofit compassionate two-bed home providing care for the terminally ill. The primary job responsibility of Flex Evening to Overnight Staff is to be the sole provider of care and support to the residents and family at Light Hill for evening and overnight hours (with on-call RN support if needed). Set your own weekly/monthly schedule in collaboration with other evening and night staff.
Responsibilities:
- Familiar with the residence and environment of Light Hill and the rules and responsibilities
- Commitment to the mission and values of Light Hill
- Follow care plan established by the Resident Care Director or On-Call RN
- Provide resident personal care, toileting, bathing, bed changes etc.
- Chart resident activity and provide report to the next shift
- Give medications per directions from Resident Care Director or On-Call RN
- As appropriate, check medical equipment to ensure working condition
- Ensure home cleanliness (refer to daily task list e.g., empty garbage cans, sweep floors, dishes etc.) and do laundry as needed
- Support residents, families and friends in whatever manner is required to allow focus on the dying process (make a pot of coffee, offer water or snacks, have boxes of tissues handy etc.)
- Follow clean room procedure following death
- Keep Resident Care Director apprised on pertinent issues that arise during shifts
- Respect and uphold resident and family confidentiality
Education:
Has had previous training and experience as a Nurse (preferred),
Nursing Assistant or Medical Tech Experience:
Experience in Patient Care (Palliative Care, Hospice or End of Life preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift, assist with transfers, reposition residents and use good body mechanics
- Must be customer service oriented and have a calming, engaging demeanor
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents
- Must have good communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the team
Job Type:

$16.00 – $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 4 – 24 per week
