Personal Care Driver and Admin Assistant Vincentian – 3.1 McCandless, PA Job Details Part-time From $15 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Mid-level High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Driving Computer skills 2 years Communication skills Full Job Description Part Time Position with 32 hours/week and/or 24 hours/week availability. Starting at $15.00/hr, based on experience The Personal Care Driver is responsible for driving Personal Care residents to and from appointments, outings, shopping and special events. This includes helping residents while on the bus, and to and from appointments or activities. Additional responsibilities include assisting with administrative duties within the Personal Care department as needed. It is the duty of all employees to promote and support a resident centered care environment that ensures kind, compassionate treatment of all children, parents, family members, visitors, and fellow employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Commits to the Vincentian Collaborative System (VCS) mission to nurture and sustain a ministry of compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of persons within a diverse and changing society. Upholds and promote the VCS values of spirituality, compassion, quality, dignity, collaboration, advocacy, stewardship and innovation. Promotes and supports a person-centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all children, parents, family members, visitors, and fellow employees with kindness, respect, and dignity. Adheres to all facility and department work rules, policies and procedures. Provides excellent customer service while driving residents to a from appointments, shopping trips and special activities. Assists residents in and out of vehicles when needed, ensures that appropriate seat restraints are used where applicable, and escorts residents when needed. Provides wheelchair transportation when needed using the Vincentian wheelchair bus. Provides transportation for other Vincentian ministries when needed. Maintains good communication with Personal Care Management, staff, families and residents to provide efficient and timely transportation. This includes phone calls and text messages. Remain current on Personal Care bus schedule. Clean and service vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories and report and coordinate vehicle maintenance repairs. Establish and monitor daily and weekly trip inspection and preventative maintenance programs, as well as maintain records regarding the maintenance of all vehicles. Keeps track of when scheduled maintenance/inspections are due. Reports any problems/defects with vehicles to the supervisor in a timely manner. Maintain a safe driving record according to company policies. Assist Personal Care Business Office Management with administrative tasks as needed which may include filing, sorting and delivering mail, assisting with billing and helping with tours as needed. Occasional weekend work may be optional if the employee is available. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent required. Current/valid driver’s license required. Minimum of two years driving experience required. Smart phone capability preferred to manage schedule. Some software and computer skills required. Professional verbal communication required.
Work Environment:
Working conditions include normal indoor building temperatures and normal air conditioned and heated vehicle temperatures. There may also be times when employees perform duties outdoors; depending on the season, outdoor temperatures will vary. Employees may come into contact with residents who have infectious diseases or to resident body fluids or blood. Employees may come into contact with hazardous materials and facility equipment.
