Duties Provide direct support to residents by assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation. Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors. Ensure the rights of residents are respected and upheld at all times. Assist with memory care activities to support cognitive functions and enhance engagement. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by performing housekeeping tasks as needed. Support residents in participating in recreational activities that promote social interaction and physical health. Document care provided and report any changes in resident conditions to the appropriate personnel. Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transportation. Perform first aid as necessary while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Strong understanding of behavior management strategies to effectively support residents. Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles. Experience in direct support roles within healthcare or caregiving settings. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting residents with mobility or transfers. Familiarity with childcare practices is a plus for working with younger populations. Proficient in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within living spaces. Basic first aid certification is preferred to ensure immediate response capabilities in emergencies.
