Opportunity available in Havertown, PA Seeking a caring, reliable, energetic and self-directed person to serve as a Support Service Professional (SSP) and peer mentor assisting a 30 year old woman to participate in educational, recreational and social activities and to strengthen daily living skills at home and in the community. The ideal candidate is familiar with providing quality care for individuals with disabilities; teaching, mentoring, assisting and modeling life skills. Must be able to model social skills and facilitate social interactions. This young woman is social, fun-loving and kind. She enjoys playing Wii, board and card games, watching and playing sports, spending time with friends, and participating in local activities. • Candidates need experience working with people with developmental disabilities and are comfortable working with iPhone apps for communication or willing to learn.

Part time flexible hours:

Mondays and Wednesdays, approximately 3-4 hours per shift between 9A-4P depending on your availability.

Other desired qualifications include:

Must have a reliable car and driver’s license, meeting all state minimum safety, registration and insurance requirements. Be able to successfully pass a background check and provide professional references upon request. Direct experience with positive behavioral support plan. Understanding of, and ability to apply the values of empowerment and collaboration. Live close to or very familiar with Havertown area. Looking for a candidate that can fulfill the following shifts: Part time flexible hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, approximately 3-4 hours per shift between 9A-4P depending on your availability.

Wages:

Starting rate $25.25/hour, with room for negotiations if credentials/experience call for it Mileage reimbursed at .70/mile when transporting participant There is a basic expectation that you will: Participate in all required trainings and meetings Fill out and submit daily service notes and timekeeping documents Communicate promptly and in advance regarding all scheduling concerns Report any health and safety concerns appropriately that arise when working with the participant
