Direct Care Worker (DCW) Mellor Living LLC Clarks Summit, PA 18411 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. This role involves working closely with clients, including those with dementia and autism, to enhance their quality of life through personal care and companionship. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition. Assist individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence where possible. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required. Utilize medical terminology appropriately when documenting care and communicating with healthcare staff. Provide support for individuals with autism, employing effective strategies tailored to their needs. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or direct care roles is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus. Familiarity with first aid procedures and ability to respond appropriately in emergencies. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to assist with meal preparation and understand dietary needs. Understanding of medical terminology related to patient care is beneficial. Must be able to maintain a clean work environment and follow safety protocols.
