The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care settings, including assisted living and community homes, and will be committed to promoting the well-being and dignity of each resident. This role involves direct support to residents with intellectual disabilities, ensuring their needs are met while fostering a positive community atmosphere. Responsibilities Provide direct support to residents, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. Administer medications as prescribed, monitoring residents for any side effects or changes in condition. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and individual preferences. Uphold resident rights by advocating for their needs and preferences within the community. Assist with memory care programs tailored to residents experiencing cognitive challenges. Maintain accurate documentation of resident care plans, progress notes, and any incidents that occur. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each resident. Experience Previous experience in residential counseling or similar roles within assisted living, nursing homes, or home community care is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and memory care best practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with resident rights and senior care regulations is essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and staff members. A commitment to providing high-quality care while respecting the dignity of all individuals.
