This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will work closely with clients in various settings, including nursing homes and hospice care, to help them maintain their independence and dignity. Responsibilities Monitor patients’ conditions by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals. Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Help clients with mobility and transfers, which may involve heavy lifting. Implement care plans developed by nursing staff or healthcare providers to meet individual client needs. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams. Requirements Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance. Familiarity with developing and following care plans tailored to individual needs. Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus. Basic first aid certification is desirable to ensure client safety during emergencies. Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
