In Home Private Caregiver (Private Household) Hanlon Household North Charleston, SC Job Details Part-time $20 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Dementia care Caregiving Assisting with ADLs Senior care Home care Entry level Full Job Description We are seeking a part-time (27-28 hours/week) caregiver to care for my elderly father with dementia. This job is in our home in the Park Circle area of North Charleston. Hours are 12:30p-6p, Monday-Friday (with additional flexible shifts, as needed and available, to fill in for other caregivers). My father is 82-years-old, and has frontotemporal dementia. Caregiver must be comfortable with and experienced assisting with activities of daily living: transferring, bathing, dressing, and toileting/continence. He walks with a walker (with assistance) and uses a transfer chair as needed for longer distances and medical appointments. He does receive PT services in the home twice each week. He requires 24//7 supervision for safety. Caregiver will provide supervision, assistance with ADLs, light housework, and will prepare meals for my father along with providing companionship throughout the day (playing memory games, puzzles, reading the newspaper with him, etc.). Caregiver may be asked to attend doctors appointments occasionally with my father (with a family member accompanying them and providing transportation). We have two larger dogs in our house (a Golden Retriever and a Weimaraner), so caregiver must be comfortable with dogs. Caregiver will only be responsible for letting them outside to use the restroom and giving them lunch (if no family members are home at lunchtime). Family works nearby and is often home for at least part of the day. Caregiver will be required to pass a background check and must be authorized to work in the United States. Payroll is completed weekly via direct deposit through a payroll agency. Caregivers are W2 employees and taxes will be withheld based on the employees completed W4. We are a non-smoking household, and ask that any caregivers refrain from smoking/vaping while at our home. As this is a private household position (not an agency), caregiver must have reliable transportation. Punctuality and dependability are essential in this position.
