Personal Care Aide (PCA) Ensure Home Care of SC Chester, SC 29706 Job Overview As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and supportive care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence and dignity. Duties Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition. Help clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring them safely. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Support clients in daily activities and encourage participation in social or recreational events. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or caregiver. Assist with medication reminders as needed. Collaborate effectively with other care team members in group home or assisted living settings. Skills Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients. Ability to assist with various caregiving tasks, demonstrating patience and empathy. Familiarity with home care systems and protocols to ensure quality care. Experience in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs. Knowledge of safety procedures when lifting or transferring clients. Previous experience in group home or nursing home environments is a plus. Attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the client’s living space.
