Part Time – Direct Care Staff
SUPERVISOR
Residential Staff Supervisor HOURS:
24 hours or more per week
CLASSIFICATION
Non-Exempt At-Will Position Direct Care Staff provide care to teens and young adults ages 15 to 21 in the care of Palmetto Place’s Teen Home (Campus B). Direct Care Staff are expected to work in harmony with other shifts to ensure that the emotional and physical needs of our residents and kids are met, to use common sense in situations for which there are few or no precedents and keep the day-to-day operations of the house functioning smoothly.
EVERY WEEKEND DAY SHIFT
– Part-time (Saturday and Sunday 11am to 11pm) Duties include all regular daily activities including but not limited to:
Household:
Prep the kitchen/dining room for lunch and dinner, laundry, cleaning of living areas and outdoor areas including weekly deep cleaning checklist, monitor/dispense medications, check on residents throughout the day and make sure they are aware of transportation schedules for the day
Transportation:
take residents to school or pick up from school, take residents to appointment, activities, and jobs; communicate with Resident Operations Manager on vehicle service needs. Maintain vehicle logs/records.
Counseling :
be aware of residents’ emotional needs, talk with residents and communicate needs to Case Coordinator or Client Services Manager
Activities:
Remind residents of planned activities happening on the weekends, plan independent living skill activities, work with volunteers, other activity duties as needed/assigned
Communication:
Ensuring house policies and procedures are being followed and adhered to by all residents, at shift change sharing updates the next shift will need to know, notifying Resident Operations Manager or Case Coordinator of any needs for the house or clients, and attend staffing meetings with Case Coordinator or Client Services Manager to stay up to date on client progress and information.
Reports:
Complete shift summaries, residents’ monthly calendars, incident reports and other reports as needed. Enter resident information into Apricot database system.
- Other duties as needed Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience, associate degree with 2+ years of experience, or High School Diploma with 3+ years of experience working with youth or related experience with at-risk youth.
- Experience working with teens and young adults. Experience with facilitating independent living skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, bend and stoop to perform essential duties. Ability to stand, bend, twist, lift and stoop in the normal course of care of teens and a home.
- Ability to safely transport youth in a minivan or minibus.
- Ability to prepare and cook meals for residents.
- Must be a team player, communicate effectively, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills.

Employment:
Clean and valid driver’s license SLED, Fingerprint, DSS Central Registry, and both SC and National Sex Offender Checks all come back clear Complete and pass a drug screen and Physical CPR and First Aid certification
