Duties:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with special needs, including those with autism
• Assist with behavior management and implement strategies for positive reinforcement
• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
• Support residents in daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident care and progress
• Promote resident rights and advocate for their needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, and therapists
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information

Requirements:

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
• Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and related challenges
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed to assist residents with mobility
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for transporting residents as required
• First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Understanding of resident rights and commitment to upholding them
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
