Rutland, VT About This Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a c ompassionate and dependable caregiver to support a 74-year-old male client in Rutland, Vermont, 05701 . The client sustained a broken neck in a motorcycle accident in 2023 and has remained in a hospital setting since. He underwent rehabilitation at Spaulding in Boston during the summer of 2024 and had regained some movement in his left arm. However, due to a lack of consistent therapy, that progress has since declined. He is typically most awake and lucid in the afternoons, making that the ideal time for visits.

Schedule:

3 times per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 2 hours per visit, flexible between 10:00 AM – 4:00

ASAP Pay Rate:

$25 per hour

Responsibilities:

Assist with range-of-motion (ROM) exercises at both the beginning and end of each visit (start with 5 minutes, gradually increasing to 15-30 minutes total). Check if respiratory support is needed; request respiratory or nurse support for cough assist if necessary.

Grooming support:

Wipe face, eyes, lips, and mouth (with sponge stick) as needed for dryness and hygiene. Apply lotion on hands and feet, trim nails as needed. Ensure client has been changed, repositioned, and attended to for comfort.
