Case Manager- Mobile Crisis Team
This position is located at our Crisis Center in Dothan, AL
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
POSITION SUMMARY/FUNCTION
Responsible for providing case management services to seriously mentally ill and/or substance use individuals of the Crisis Stabilization Unit and/or in the community via Mobile Crisis Teams. Position will be responsible for completing and implementing case management plans, working with community partners (law enforcement agencies, etc), and linking individuals with community resources and continuing behavioral health care. Will be responsible for maintaining appropriate records. Travel will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS
1. Coordinates and provides case management services to individuals within the community via Crisis Mobile Team.
2. Performs administrative functions in support of case load.
3. Develops and implements case management service plan for individuals.
4. Represents the needs of persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorder issues.
5. Assist with maintaining individual’s records in a professional manner and in accordance with all SpectraCare policies and procedures, Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
6. Courteous and respectful towards individuals, visitors, and co-workers.
7. Fulfill duties of Nurse Delegation Program.
8. Regular attendance with timely arrival and departure according to scheduled hours.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS
- Attend all required job-related/system training.
- Assist in other areas as needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Knowledge of psychiatric and substance use disorders in the adult population and/or knowledge of addiction as a primary/secondary illness.
- Knowledge of cultural diversity
- Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, and interventions common to acute psychotic individuals and/or individuals with substance use issues as well as , to non-violent crisis intervention practice.
- Knowledge of available community resources.
- Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders
- Ability to design, implement/administer individualized behavioral services in regard to case management services.
- Ability to provide services in all facilities, in the community and other locations as deemed necessary.
- Must be motivated and able to make quick and accurate decisions. Must be able to meet and exceed expectations. Must be able to organize and perform all duties with minimum
mistakes and without constant supervision. - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, managers, and/or the general public in an effective and understanding manner, to promote quality of care.
- Ability to maintain unit files to include but not limited to recipient charts, case management documentation, etc. in accordance with the requirements of SpectraCare policies and
procedures, Alabama Administrative Code, CMS and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities. - Ability to attend to detailed assignments and follow through with task until completion.
- Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner, without endangering any employee or asset.
- Working knowledge of business English, spelling and math.
- Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Skill in keying rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to provide excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with recipients, families, and/or other agencies regarding case management services.

- Ability to operate office machines such as computers, copier, fax machines and/or other equipment or programs.

e., not crossing professional boundaries to include but not limited to fraternization.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services and/or related field.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
- Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required.
- Willing to complete Case Management training upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Prior case management experience in a mental health/substance use setting.
