Major Objective :
Interview and assess individuals and families to determine eligibility for emergency assistance and special programs
Position :
Non-Exempt / Full-time Position Reports to
EA Program Manager Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of social work or human services related field. BSW preferred. Candidate must possess above-average communication skills and ability to assess need-based individuals and families. Must have a valid Alabama Driver’s License and have personal automobile insurance coverage. Travel throughout Mobile County will be required. Candidate must successfully complete the Archdiocesan Child Protection Training and background check.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts client intakes and assessments; determine eligibility for services based on agency guidelines and special program guidelines
- Promote concise, factual documentation for client files in a timely manner
- Advocate on behalf of clients to obtain services and resolve problematic issues within the community
- Increase knowledge of existing local, state, and federal agency programs to better service agency client population
- Coordinate home visits as needed on case by case basis with Program Manager
- Assist in food pantry stocking when needed to insure quality of services to clients
- Related duties as requested
