Essential Job Functions Functions as the first point of contact for the medically directed, multi-disciplinary Child Protection Team. Provides expert consultation and training to community professionals involved in the investigation and assessment of child abuse allegations Gathers crucial forensic evidence that is used to build criminal and dependency court cases of child abuse and neglect. This evidence is provided via highly specialized services such as photographic documentation of severe abuse injuries and videotaped forensic interviews with suspected child physical and sexual abuse victims. Required to participate in the on-call rotation. Documents case direction in case records for children admitted to any Brevard County hospital who are suspected abuse or neglect victims. Provide expert court testimony in criminal and dependency court proceedings as needed. Writes comprehensive psychosocial assessments involving all available family members to help assess risk. Facilitates multi-disciplinary crisis planning sessions. Coordinates physical and sexual abuse examinations with CPT physician/medical staff. Creates written reports with recommendations for services and interventions to reduce the risk to children Serve as community resource for consultation on suspected cases of child abuse and neglect. Conducts or participates in child and family interviews to assess factors contributing to suspected abuse or neglect. Maintain the teams cooperative working relationship with area hospitals, community agencies, and individuals. CPT Case Coordinators must timely, accurately and completely document all case activity.
