Victim Hotline Advocate Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (C.A.R.E.) Punta Gorda, FL 33951 GENERAL

DESCRIPTION

Victim Advocate for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other violent crimes. Answer C.A.R.E.’s Crisis Hotline. Provide advocacy services in C.A.R.E. Administrative and Shelter settings. Co-ordinate case management with community resources.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide crisis intervention service for crisis line, shelter, outreach and victim assistance in the legal system. Provide assistance in filing crime’s compensation form and help in requesting restitution. Facilitate for victims of crime as necessary in filing of Orders for Protection or Orders Against Repeat Violence. Accompany victims during medical proceedings as necessary. Maintain up-to-date client files and related materials preparing statistical data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS BS

degree preferred in related field or commensurate education and/or experience Demonstrate ability/willingness to work as a team member with minimal supervision Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques Ability to assess and set priorities Ability to maintain consistency of quality/quantity work in reasonable time frame
