The Pregnancy and Adoption Advocate provides direct services to adoption and pregnancy clients throughout multiple counties. Provides individual and group sessions to identify potential issues, and help address issues in a healthy way. Provides direct services related to pregnancy counseling, and options to persons seeking assistance; develops positive relationships with local service providers and referral sources in the community. Minimum of a four year degree in social work, psychology, nursing or counseling and some social work experience or at least two (2) years of professional experience. Knowledge of adoptions and pregnancy support services. Knowledge of community support services. Excellent organizational skills and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to remain calm and work in a fast-paced environment. Complete client intake and assessments to determine appropriate services and referrals. Provide pregnancy and adoptions advocacy and support services to pregnant clients to support the client’s decision in doing what is best for her and her child. Conducts meeting with expectant and adoptive parents and develops action plans. Promptly respond to crisis calls. Keep accurate records for various reporting requirements, including , Choose Life, FPSSP, etc. Maintains an active database and accurate and complete case files for each assigned pregnant woman and provides all monthly reports accurately and on-time. Be on call and available for mothers near time of delivery to travel to the hospital for support. Outreach to client referral sources Assist clients in identifying financial aid programs available to individuals and advise them of the effects of such programs on TANF, Food Stamps, and childcare and housing subsidies. Communicate and collaborate with service providers in the community to provide the highest quality of services and communication to our mutual clients. Must be able to pass an extensive background, credit and MVR screenings. Must not teach, advocate, or in any way encourage beliefs or behaviors that are contrary to Catholic social doctrine.
