JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:

Provides group counseling, individual counseling, and case management services to primarily adolescent and young adult population. Services are facilitated both in the office and in the field at different school and community center locations. Must be highly motivated, self-directed and have a good time management. Requires excellent team building and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology or related field. Knowledge of local community resources and the school system. Highly motivated, self-directed, good time management, and excellent communication skills a must. Valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualification:

Experience in mental health or classroom setting preferred.

Essential Functions:

Reports to work as scheduled on a daily basis to perform job duties to facilitate the development of therapeutic relationships with clients and to facilitate consistent client services. Provide knowledge and increase awareness of the nature and extent of alcohol and drug use. Educate the community about treatment programs and services. Educate the community about life skills, social skills, problem-solving, communication skills and peer resistance. Establish working relationships with other community providers to strengthen the program. Document and maintain records of contacts and presentations. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Case managers are required to work in the field in different environments and are involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., in a behavioral health setting. If employed in hospitals, case managers work in clean, well-lit establishments, but they can be exposed to various health conditions. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:00-5:00. Some early morning, evening and weekend hours when needed. Travel is required.
