Case Manager, Diversion and Housing Christian Service Center For The Homeless 808 West Central Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32805
Position Summary:
Join one of Central Florida’s oldest and most established social service agencies in our effort to combat homelessness by getting individuals into housing rapidly. With locations in Downtown Orlando and Ocoee, the Christian Service Center has been serving Central Florida families with compassion and care for since 1971. In 2024, we rescued 1,236 individuals from homelessness through homeless prevention services and moves off the street and into safe, sustainable housing solutions. We’re seeking dedicated Housing Case Managers to join our innovative 407 Connect Initiative, a first-of-its-kind mobile shelter program providing dignified overnight accommodation to individuals experiencing homelessness. Case Managers work directly with guests to create pathways to permanent housing, healthcare, and employment. This position plays a crucial role in our mission to end homelessness by providing intensive case management services to individuals utilizing our overnight shelter buses.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for program participants
- Develop individualized housing-focused case plans with measurable goals
- Provide direct assistance with housing search and placement
- Coordinate move-in support and housing stabilization services
- Connect clients with essential resources including: o Housing assistance o Healthcare services o Employment opportunities o Legal assistance o Benefits enrollment
- Maintain detailed case notes and documentation in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
- Coordinate with Intake Coordinator to manage nightly bed assignments
- Conduct same-day appointments with new guests seeking shelter
- Manage a caseload of shelter guests working toward housing stability
- Coordinate move-in assistance funds and housing support services
- Track and report on housing outcomes and program metrics
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related human services field or commiserate experience
- 2+ years experience in homeless services or housing-focused case management
- Proficiency in HMIS or similar case management systems
- Understanding of Housing First principles and trauma-informed care
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work or related field
- Experience with the Coordinated Entry System
- Knowledge of Central Florida housing market and local resources
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Motivational interviewing certification
