Job Number 2025-73 Department Dougherty County District Attorney’s Office Opening Date 06/17/2025 Closing Date 7/8/2025 11:59 PM Eastern Description The Dougherty County District Attorney (Victim Services) Department is hiring for a Victim’s Advance. The purpose of this position is to provide victims of crime information on resources available to assist them with social, emotional, financial and housing assistance. Essential Tasks Receives and reviews all incident reports to identify victim/witnesses with possible needs for emotional and physical support. Attempts to contact victim/witness in-person, by phone or by mail to offer assistance. Assists victims/witnesses by completing forms, provide emotional crises intervention, accompany to court hearings at their request, and notify court proceedings through disposition in summary court. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Provide mandate information and reports to agencies. Assist in getting the necessary support from other agencies through referrals.
Emergency referrals may include:
Medical, Emergency Food Supplies, Clothing, Shelter, Financial, Child, Repair or Clean-Up of Property and Transportation. Assists victims in filing for compensation benefits. Maintains accurate and up-to-date case documentation. Improves public awareness of the victim assistance program through the preparation and distribution of public service announcements, media appearances, and public speaking engagements. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Qualification Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Human or Social Services or related major. Two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
