Sexual Assault Advocate North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network Blue Ridge, GA 30513 The Sexual Assault Advocate plays a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and resources to victims of sexual assault. The compassionate individual who listens attentively and navigates the client towards making informed decisions requires a deep desire for social justice. He/She will advocate for the rights and well-being of sexual abuse/assault, domestic violence, and/or trauma assault victims. Some overflow into Outreach or Legal Advocacy may be needed. Salary TBD.

The job responsibilities include:

o Accompanying victims to hospitals, police departments. o Providing crisis support, information, and referrals. o Assisting with crime victims’ compensation claims. o Providing personal advocacy.

Requirements of Position Applicants:

o Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in psychology, Sociology, or related field or two plus years in advocacy work. o Experience in social work, psychology, criminal justice, community counseling, or equivalent work experience. o Able to utilize the resources available both in the community and in-house. o Pass a criminal background check. o Willing to submit to random drug screenings.
