GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Fairland Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated

DFACS/SNAP

Coordinator to join our Client Advocate Department (Case Management). This specialized role focuses on expediting SNAP benefits enrollment for clients with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. The coordinator will leverage their DFACS expertise to navigate system complexities and ensure clients receive essential nutritional support during their recovery journey.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist clients in obtaining SNAP benefits as quickly and efficiently as possible. Navigate the complexities of the Georgia DFACS system on behalf of clients. Provide expert guidance through SNAP application processes and requirements. Advocate for expedited processing of client applications when appropriate. Coordinate with DFACS personnel to resolve application issues and barriers. Maintain detailed documentation of client progress and benefit status. Collaborate with Client Advocate team members to ensure comprehensive case management. Provide education to clients regarding SNAP eligibility requirements and ongoing obligations. Address and resolve SNAP-related issues that may arise during client treatment.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma Must have extensive experienced with the SNAP benefits program in Georgia, preferably a previous DFACS caseworker in Georgia. In-depth knowledge of SNAP program requirements, regulations, and procedures. Experience navigating Georgia DFACS systems and processes. Understanding of eligibility determination processes and documentation requirements. Strong advocacy and communication skills. Ability to work with vulnerable populations, including individuals with substance. use disorders and mental health conditions. If in recovery, must have at least two (2) years clean time.
